AGHCA and LoudInk, a Students with Dreams project, were thrilled to be a part of the Lake of Stars music festival and associated youth event, Day of Ideas, in Chintheche, Malawi.
At Day of Ideas, around 500 young people from surrounding secondary schools joined artists, tech specialists and entrepreneurs to commemorate 40 years of EU cooperation with Malawi. Programme Officer Steve Manyozo, together with the Dreamers who created LoudInk and Front Seat, led an interactive session inspiring students to envision their own dreams for Malawi.
LoudInk co-founders Madalo Banda and Lekodi invited festivalgoers to create an unfolding crowdsourced story and the AGHCA team facilitated youth sharing their ideas on an 'Ideas Tree'. Madalo and Lekodi also led a creative writing workshop, in which participants engaged in a series of exercises to flex their creative muscles and share with the rest of the group.
"I didn't know what to expect, but the way the facilitators led and structured the session made me feel that I could come up with creative ideas," mused workshop participant Kitty.
